Pune experiences light rain; overcast conditions likely till March 31

Pune: Many parts of the city, including Kothurd, Karve Nagar, Sinhgad Road, Warje, Wanawadi, Yerawada, Viman Nagar, Vishrantwadi and Shivajinagar, on Saturday experienced light to very light rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky will remain cloudy in the city till March 31.

Parts of Marathwada, Vidarbha also reported light rainfall. Light rains are expected to continue till March 30 in the State.

On Saturday, Nizamabad in Telangana recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39.3 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature of 11.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Narnual in Haryana over plains of the country.

According to an IMD prediction, thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning, hail and gusty wind, is likely to occur over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha over Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Arunachal Pradesh on March 29.

3-mm rainfall in city

  • Pune reported 3-mm rainfall whereas Lohegaon reported 4 mm till 5pm on Saturday
  • The highest maximum temperature was reported in the State at 39 degrees Celsius in Solapur
  • The lowest minimum temperature reported was at 18.4 degrees Celsius at Mahabaleshwar
