Mumbai: Maharashtra's state legislative council poll results gave a clear indication that Shiv Sena and BJP still hold a significant clout in the local self government bodies across the state.

Out of the 6 seats for which counting was taken up on Thursday, 2 went to the Shiv Sena, 2 to BJP while on one seat NCP got a lead.

Congress lost the Amaravati seat to BJP's Pravin Pore who got 458 votes.

In Nashik, Sena's Narendra Darade won despite NCP and Congress being backed by BJP to counter Sena there.

Raigad seat was won by BJP's Aniket Tatkare while in Parbhani-Hingoli, Sena's Viplav Bajoria won and the Wardha seat was won by BJP's Ramdas Ambatkar.
