Pune: The farmers in Pune district had to spend hours in order to fill loan waiver forms.

The leaders of farmer organisations have blamed the government for not being able to provide a system where the process of form filling exercise can be done easily.

Rajendra Dhavan Patil, Pune District President of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana told Sakal Times that farmers from Purandar, Indapur and Daund Taluka spent several hours standing in the queue to fill up the forms.
Patil said that many could not fill the forms due to server slowing down and argued that this is a crucial time of Kharif season and farmers cannot afford to spend time away from their fields.

He added that moreover the government officials at tehsil and SETU offices are not trained to handle the questions being raised by farmers while filling forms.

A top ranking officer of Cooperative Department informed that the government is considering to appoint a private agency to get this work done speedily.

Considering irregularities reported regarding the loan waiver announced in 2008-09, the State government has made it mandatory for farmers to link their KYC.

Is CM's promise falling flat?

†The app will have a two-page form in which farmers have to mention PAN and Aadhar numbers and details of loans they have taken.
†The government has announced that the farmers can fill up forms at 26,000 service centres in the State.
