Supriya Sule to write blogs on current affairs

ST CORRESPONDENT

MUMBAI: NCP MP Supriya Sule now has decided to be active on social media. She is going to start a blog on current affairs from Makar Sankranti.

Sule, who is active on Twitter and Facebook regularly, will now convey her opinions through the blog. It will appear twice a month.

The General elections are slated to be held in 2019, so Supriya Sule has decided to increase her presence on various media platforms, said her close aide. As part of the strategy, Sule will write two blogs every month.

“Currently, blogs will be her in-length interpretation of the political and social issues. She is articulating her thoughts in Lok Sabha and getting tremendous response. However, that happens only during Parliament session. So, to keep her views in detail before public, she has decided to write every fortnight,” said Sule’s close aide.

Currently, no political leader is using blogs to reach out to their voters. Some leaders write columns, weekly and even fortnightly in newspapers and magazines.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar had written a column of memoir kind with ‘Sakal’ two years back.

After losing in 2014 Assembly elections, NCP has felt the need to increase its presence on various media. Party resorted to Twitter and Facebook to reach out to people. A large number of NCP’s cadre is active on both the social media sites.
