Manas Lake City Hosts Successful Family Run Mini-Marathon

Organized by Manas Lake Runners in collaboration with Ashok Nalpe, Manish Thorat, and Shekhar Sakhare, the event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Pune: The Family Run-Commit to Fit mini-marathon at Manas Lake City in Bhukum received tremendous participation and enthusiasm. The event saw 500 runners, ranging from 5 to 75 years old, coming together to celebrate fitness and community spirit.

Organized by Manas Lake Runners in collaboration with Ashok Nalpe, Manish Thorat, and Shekhar Sakhare, the event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The marathon was organized in memory of Harshad Pingale, a resident runner of Manas Lake City, who passed away in an accident. To boost enthusiasm, a Zumba warm-up session was held before the run.

The organizers ensured the availability of essential services such as medical teams, emergency services, and water stations for the mini-marathon.

The 5 km run began at 6:30 AM, followed by the 3 km run at 6:50 AM. Many participants shared that the experience of running in the scenic environment of Manas Lake was delightful.

Most runners completed their race and crossed the finish line by 7:30 AM. After the run, a CPR training session was conducted by Kaustubh Sudhir Zhirpe.

At the end of the event, the chief guests, including Air Force Helicopter Pilot Group Captain Abhijit Khedkar, Commanding Officer of 3 Maharashtra Air Squadron J.K. Mahapatra, Retired Warrant Officer K.L. Sharma, Former Air Force Officer Sadanand Jatale, and actress Radha Sagar, were honored.
