Director Nishikant Kamat, best known for his work in films like Force, Drishyam and more passed away on Monday. The director who had suffered from liver cirrhosis was admitted to the hospital in Hyderabad and was reportedly in critical condition.
Nishikant who made his directorial debut with Marathi movie, Dombivali Fast, in 2005 came in limelight when he directed Drishyam starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in 2015. The 50-year-old was known for directing Bollywood movies such as Irrfan Khan-starrer Madaari and the John Abraham starter Force and Rocky Handsome to name a few. Apart from direction, he also featured in movies such as Saatchya Aat Gharat (Marathi), Rocky Handsome (2016), Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Julie 2 and Fugay.
Recently, he worked as a creative producer on the ZEE5 web series The Final Call. The filmmaker was also directing a plan titled Darbadar that was scheduled for 2022.

Actor Ajay Devgan also took to Twitter to share the news.
According to reports, a week back, the AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, had said the filmmaker was "critical but stable."
"He has been diagnosed with chronic liver disease and other secondary infections. He is in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of senior consultants comprising of Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Critical Care and others. His condition is critical but stable," read the hospital statement.
