Lok Sabha MP from Dadra and Nagar Haveli was found dead at a hotel in Mumbai on Monday. Mumbai Police have recovered a suicide note from the spot and are further investigating the matter.

"A suicide note has been found. The investigation is being done. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem,” Mumbai Police said in a statement.

The 58-year-old independent MP has represented the Dadra and Nagar Haveli constituency seven times. He was earlier associated with Congress. However, he quit the party in 2019 to contest the national election as an independent.

Delkar is survived by his wife and two children.
