’Metro Man’ E Sreedharan to take a political plunge, will join BJP

‘’E Sreedharan will be joining BJP during party's Vijay Yatra’commencing on February 21 from Kasaragod,” said BJP state president K Surendran on Thursday.

Metro Man E Sreedharan will be taking a political plunge ahead of the Kerala elections due in May 2021.

‘’E Sreedharan will be joining BJP during party's Vijay Yatra’commencing on February 21 from Kasaragod,” said BJP state president K Surendran on Thursday.

“He has expressed his willingness to work with the BJP,” Surendran further told reporters.

E Sreedharan, who is popularly known as the Metro man of India, has been credited with changing the face of public transport during his leadership role in building Delhi Metro and the Konkan Railway. He retired as chief of the Delhi metro in 2011.

Sreedharan was conferred the Padma Shri award in 2001 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
