Yogi Adityanath transfers Rs 225 crore to MGNREGA beneficiaries

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday transferred Rs 225.39 Crores to Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) beneficiaries through direct bank transfer.

Yogi has raised the honorarium of the 'gram sewaks' who are beneficiaries under MGNREGA, to Rs 6,000 per month from the earlier Rs 3,630 per month.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was providing employment to over 22 lakh workers under MGNREGA.

"This number would increase to 50 lakh workers by the end of this month," he added.

Yogi also appealed to the MGNREGA workers to help in generating more employment in their villages and districts and ensure that the needy get employment.
