Plasto 2025 to Showcase Sustainability and Innovation in Plastics Industry

The exhibition will emphasize the importance of transitioning to a circular economy, showcasing eco-friendly innovations and sustainable practices.

Pune: The Association for the Promotion of Plastics (APP) is preparing to host the 8th Plasto 2025 exhibition from January 8 to 11, 2025, at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Moshi.

With sustainability and the circular economy as its central themes, the event is set to be a premier platform for innovation and growth in the plastics sector.

The launch event, held at the Grand Sheraton Hotel in Pune, saw Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, inaugurate the proceedings as the chief guest.

Highlighting the importance of the plastics industry in Pune’s economic landscape, he emphasized its role in putting the city on the global map and assured support for the industry's growth.

Prominent industry leaders, including Ghanshyam Deshpande (President – Technological Excellence, Praj Industries Ltd), Ashwin Shastri (Chief Transformation Officer, Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd), and Dr. Ashish Lele (Director, CSIR-NCL), also shared their perspectives.

They underlined the need for scaling up the small and medium industries, adopting sustainability practices, and leveraging Pune’s innovative ecosystem to drive the sector forward.

  • Industry Growth: With over 85% of the exhibition space already booked, this year’s event is set to be the largest edition yet, spanning 1.5 lakh square feet.

  • Networking Opportunities: A platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and stakeholders to connect, expand brand reach, and explore collaborations.

APP President Anil Naik expressed pride in the organization’s consistent growth and commitment to the welfare of the plastics industry. Plasto Chairman Ajay Zod described the event as a one-stop destination for the sector, aligned with sustainable development goals.

Since its inception in 1989, Plasto has served as a trusted platform for showcasing excellence in the plastics industry. Organized by APP, a non-profit founded in 1981, the event reflects its mission to address challenges, foster innovation, and support the growth of the plastics and allied industries.

The exhibition will culminate in an expansive display of cutting-edge products, innovative solutions, and industry expertise, setting a benchmark for the future of sustainable development in the plastics sector.
