Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation has earmarked approximately ₹12 crore for improving the sewage system in Wagholi, with the tender process now underway.

This move has sparked a competition among former representatives, each claiming credit for the allocation due to their efforts. Social media is abuzz with these claims.

The sewerage department of the municipal corporation has published a tender for the project. A sum of around ₹3.17 crore has been set aside for developing the stormwater drain on Phulmala Road.

Additionally, ₹4.17 crore has been allocated for installing sewage pipelines from Sant Tukaram Nagar to Kapuri Vihir, along East Rang Society, from Kamalbag Society to Z Society, from Bhavdi Road Alpha Landmark Society to Jadhav Vasti, and from Z Society (HP Petrol Pump) Nagar Road to Kaveri Nala.

In the Kesnand Phata area of Wagholi, including from Naira Petrol Pump to Mhasoba Temple, to Supriya Hotel, and from JJ Nagar to Kesnand Road, approximately ₹4.15 crore has been allocated for sewage pipelines.

These projects are expected to be completed within the next one and a half years following the tender process. Former representatives from various political parties are actively sharing the tender advertisement and their related correspondence on social media to claim credit for the project in Wagholi.

Once these projects are completed, the long-standing issue of waterlogging after rains in many areas will be resolved, providing much-needed relief to the residents. Citizens are humorously commenting on the ongoing credit battle among politicians on social media.
