Pune: Koyta Gang Causes Panic on B.T. Kawade Road; 50 Vehicles Vandalized

The two accused started their rampage from Sasane Udyan and continued to B.T. Kawade Road, targeting vehicles and damaging public and private property.

Pune: In a shocking incident, two youths armed with machetes created panic on B.T. Kawade Road by vandalizing approximately 50 vehicles, including four-wheelers, buses, tempos, rickshaws, and two-wheelers. They also caused property damage at a hotel by striking tables with machetes.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on the busy road. The two accused started their rampage from Sasane Udyan and continued to B.T. Kawade Road, targeting vehicles and damaging public and private property. After vandalizing a Chinese food stall, they entered a hotel, attacked the furniture, and moved to Basera Colony, where they broke the windows of parked vehicles.

Threats and Pursuit by Citizens

When citizens tried to intervene, the culprits threatened them with machetes. A group of shopkeepers pursued the accused, who eventually hid inside a rickshaw at Nigde Nagar. Acting on the information, 10-15 locals gathered, apprehended one of the suspects, and handed him over to the police.

Accused in Custody

The Mundhwa police have taken Kaushal Landge (20, resident of Bhimnagar) and a minor accomplice into custody. Senior Police Inspector Neelkanth Jagtap confirmed that the accused were under the influence of intoxicants and carried out these acts to create fear among the public. The investigation is ongoing to determine if others are involved in the incident.
