Pune Metro Incident: Senior Citizen Booked for Misbehaving with Woman Passenger

65-year-old accused caught taking photos, police register case at Vishrambaug station

Pune, 10 September 2025: A 65-year-old man has been booked for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger while travelling on the Pune Metro. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the Mahatma Phule Mandai station.

Police said the woman, who was travelling around 2 pm, noticed that the man was staring at her continuously and behaving in an obscene manner. She further alleged that he used his mobile phone to take her photographs without consent.

The woman immediately informed metro security staff, who detained the man and took him to the Mandai police station. On checking his phone, the woman’s photographs were found saved.

Following the complaint, the Vishrambaug police registered a case under charges of obscene behaviour. The accused, a native of Muzaffarnagar in Bihar, has been served a notice. Assistant Police Inspector Waghmare is conducting further investigation.
