Pune: Torrential rains have been pouring down in the Mumbai region since Sunday (July 7) leading to significant waterlogging on the railway tracks between Kandivali-Titwala and Kalyan-Kasara on the Pune-Mumbai railway route. Consequently, four trains between Pune and Mumbai have been canceled on Monday (July 8).

The canceled trains heading towards Mumbai are:

  • 11010 Pune-Mumbai Sinhagad Express

  • 12124 Pune-Mumbai Deccan Queen Express

  • 11008 Pune-Mumbai Deccan Express

  • 12128 Pune-Mumbai Intercity Express

The canceled trains heading towards Pune are:

  • 11009 Mumbai-Pune Sinhagad Express

  • 12127 Mumbai-Pune Intercity Express

  • 12123 Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen Express

  • 11007 Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express

Due to the heavy rains on Sunday night, services on the Central Railway have been disrupted. On Monday morning, suburban services on the slow line from Dadar to Thane were running with delays, resulting in overcrowded platforms.

Announcements have been made regarding the suspension of the Harbour line services from Kurla, with services from Panvel to CSMT being disrupted. However, it has been announced at Kurla station that Harbour line services between Panvel and Vashi have resumed.

The Central Railway has acknowledged that the torrential rains have affected local train services. Both the down direction local trains and express trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) are running late. A notice regarding these delays has been posted.

While the Western Railway line is operating smoothly, the Central Railway and Trans-Harbour lines have been severely impacted by the rains. Office-goers are expected to face significant challenges in reaching their workplaces due to the current weather conditions.
