Room Viewing Turns Fatal: Man Dies After Altercation with Prospective Renters

The deceased, identified as Satish Arjun Dedage, age 31, was staying in a rented room in Salunkhe Vasti, Mulshi Taluka.

Pune: A 31-year-old man died after a confrontation with four individuals who had come to view his room, leading to a murder charge against them five days later.

The incident began when an inebriated Satish Dedage reportedly verbally abused the group, resulting in a violent scuffle that ended fatally.

The deceased, identified as Satish Arjun Dedage, age 31, was staying in a rented room in Salunkhe Vasti, Mulshi Taluka.

According to police sources, Dedage returned home intoxicated just as four people, sent by the homeowner, arrived to inspect the room he was soon to vacate.

The accused in the case are Hari Ganpat Waghmode, age 33, Avinash Ramesh Gawhale, age 28, Vipul Suresh Kumbhar, age 27, and Sandeep Kantilal Shedge.

The altercation reportedly began when Dedage started to verbally abuse the visitors without provocation. Despite their requests for him to stop, Dedage continued his aggression, which eventually led to a physical altercation.

The group attempted to pacify Dedage, but when he attacked them, the situation escalated. The confrontation turned fatal when one of the men struck Dedage with a wooden ply board lying nearby. Dedage collapsed and was later found unconscious.

Police initially registered the case as a sudden death and began their investigation.

Assistant Police Inspector Somnath Panchal, leading the inquiry, confirmed that the incident led to a murder charge after police discovered that the attack was indeed fatal. Dedage was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
