Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Pune tomorrow, September 26, to inaugurate the highly anticipated underground metro line between Shivajinagar and Swargate.
Ahead of the event, Pune Metro has stirred excitement among citizens by sharing stunning images of the Swargate Underground Metro Station on their X (formerly Twitter) account. The photographs have sparked a wave of curiosity, with some users even requesting videos of the station.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the new metro route from Swargate to Katraj. This visit marks a significant milestone for Pune Metro, with extensive preparations underway to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
Key Events During Prime Minister Modi's Pune Visit:
PM Modi will arrive at Pune airport by 5:35 PM.
At 5:55 PM, he will reach Shivajinagar Metro Station, where he will flag off the metro service between Shivajinagar and Swargate.
PM Modi will travel on the metro to Swargate station.
Following the metro ride, the Prime Minister will conduct the groundbreaking ceremony for the Swargate to Katraj metro route.
PM Modi will then arrive at SP College by 6:30 PM.
PM Modi will depart for Delhi from Pune airport at 7:55 PM.
Prime Minister’s Connection to Pune Metro
Pune Metro’s construction is being managed by two organizations: Maha-Metro, which oversees two metro lines, and PMRDA, in partnership with the Tata Group, managing the third line.
Modi has been closely involved in the development of Pune Metro, having participated in five key events, including inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies.
His engagement with the Pune Metro project began on December 24, 2016, when he laid the foundation stone for the metro route at the Agriculture College grounds.
Later, in December 2018, he visited Pune to lay the foundation for the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar metro route. More recently, on March 6, 2022, Modi inaugurated the Garware College to Vanaz metro line.
