According to police, Samarth turned off his mobile phone while he was on the run to prevent his location from being tracked. Nonetheless, through technical investigation, officers identified his last known mobile location in Bhopal, after which they stepped up efforts to find him.

During interrogation, Samarth is said to have confessed that he frequently changed his whereabouts and minimized direct interaction with others while evading capture. Investigators believe he may have been assisted by certain individuals during this time. Police are now identifying those who were in contact with him on May 12 and 13 and are likely to question them soon.

Findings do not match the story

Meanwhile, police have revisited the crime scene and created a new layout of the area to cross-check every detail related to the case. Authorities are also examining whether any evidence may have been tampered with.

The likelihood of a CBI investigation into the case is steadily increasing. If the CBI takes over, the documents and evidence gathered by the state investigation team may be transferred to the central agency.Officials are currently examining mobile data, CCTV footage and call detail records to understand who was active before and after the incident. Twisha’s final chats and movements are also under investigation.

To date, police have confiscated the clothes Twisha was wearing when she died, the material used for hanging, and her mobile phone. Her digital activity, including chats and call logs, is currently under examination.During the investigation, police also found a Volkswagen car key in the pocket of Twisha’s shorts. Her family, however, claimed that she did not know how to drive. Police are now trying to find out how the car key ended up in her pocket.
