Pune: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Pune on February 22 to chair the Western Zonal Meeting of the Union Home Department. The meeting, which will be held at a five-star hotel in Koregaon Park, will be attended by senior officials from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.

Preparations Underway for High-Level Meeting

The district administration has started preparations for the high-profile event. Pune Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P. has been appointed as the nodal officer to oversee arrangements, while 11 other officials have been given specific responsibilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the meeting.

Uncertainty Over Shah’s Political Engagements in Pune

This visit marks Amit Shah’s first trip to Pune after the Assembly elections. Given the occasion, local BJP leaders are making efforts to arrange a political event featuring his presence. However, no official confirmation has been received regarding his participation in any such programs.
