Wagholi to Get 135 Liters Water Per Person from Bhama Askhed Water Project

The Pune Municipal Corporation has allocated approximately 230 crore rupees to facilitate water supply from Lohegaon to Wagholi.

Pune: The residents of Wagholi are set to receive 135 liters of water per person daily from the Bhama Askhed Water Project. However, they will have to wait at least 30 months for this benefit. The groundbreaking ceremony for the water pipeline was conducted by MLA Ashok Pawar on Wednesday (July 17) evening.

The Bhama Askhed project's main water pipeline has already reached Lohegaon. The Pune Municipal Corporation has allocated approximately 230 crore rupees to facilitate water supply from Lohegaon to Wagholi. This allocation covers the main pipeline, internal pipelines, and water tanks.

The internal pipeline work's groundbreaking ceremony took place near Suyog Nisarg Society on Lohegaon Road, officiated by MLA Ashok Pawar. The event was attended by notable personalities, including Shivdas Ubale, Vasundhara Ubale, Jyoti Pacharne, society members, and municipal corporation officials.

The state government in December 2020, published a notification in the gazette declaring the merger of 23 villages, including Wagholi, in the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation. With this merger, Pune city became the biggest city in the state of Maharashtra.
