Warje: Pillion Rider Dies After Two-Wheeler Skids, Rider Charged

The deceased has been identified as Gauri Sanjeevkumar Kalshetti, a resident of Shivaji Chowk, Ambegaon.

Pune: A tragic road accident in the Warje area claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred when a speeding two-wheeler skidded, resulting in fatal injuries to the pillion rider.

The deceased, identified as Gauri Sanjeevkumar Kalshetti, a resident of Shivaji Chowk, Ambegaon, was on her way to visit a temple in Mulshi with the bike rider, Abhishek Ganesh Bangude (24), a resident of Narhe.

The accident happened at approximately 2:30 PM near Mai Mangeshkar Hospital on the bypass road in Warje Malwadi.

According to the Warje Police, Abhishek was riding at high speed and applied the brakes suddenly, causing the vehicle to skid. Gauri fell off the bike and suffered severe head injuries.

She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries before medical treatment could commence.

Following the incident, Gauri’s brother, Rohit Kalshetti, filed a complaint at the Warje Police Station. A case has been registered against Abhishek under relevant sections for negligence leading to death.
