Pune: The Rose Society of Pune has organised the 103rd Rose Show on January 5 and 6 at Tilak Smarak Mandir. The show will be inaugurated by Archana Tyagi, Additional Director General of Police, SRPF, Maharashtra.

The Rose Show is divided into 69 categories like house grown, hobbies, institutional garden, display, western arrangement and Indian arrangement. Each category will have first and second prizes and there are 37 trophies in total for all these classes.

Rose Society of Pune Secretary Neelesh Apte said, “This year we are expecting at least 2,000 to 2,500 flower arrangements. The participants are from and around Pune, also from the Konkan area.”

Every year, the Rose Society of Pune honours one of its members, known as rosarians. This year, the recipient is the Society Vice President Bhagyashree Takle.

The other major attraction of this year’s Rose Show is the stalls at the venue, which cater to rosarians. Gardening tools, fertilisers, plants, insecticides and other gardening material will be available at these stalls.
