104 Schools To Change Pick-up And Drop Points

ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: The Pune traffic police have instructed 104 schools to change the pick-up and drop points for the students. The points have already been decided and most of the schools will pick and drop the students from their premises itself.

The notification was issued on Monday by DCP (Traffic) Pankaj Deshmukh. However, if any changes are made by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) or Pune traffic police, it will be intimated to the schools three days in advance.

As many as 104 schools have to change their pick and drop points. Most of the schools have to park their vehicles inside the school premises or near the school and in front of the gate. Earlier, the buses used to be parked anywhere and students were facing trouble while crossing the roads.

On March 2018, the Nagpur Bench of the high court ordered on a PIL filed on fixing the stops of school buses and vans.

The traffic police and Regional Transport Office were instructed to inspect the place for pick and drop facility for school vehicles.
