PUNE: A 12-year-old boy committed suicide after his father failed to buy him a bicycle on Saturday in Nigdi.

The deceased was identified as Ishant Sharma, a resident of Siddhi Vinayak Nagar in Nigdi. The minor ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room.

According to the Dehu Road police, Ishant had asked for a bicycle from his father a few days ago. After promising him the bicycle, his father got busy with his work and forgot to buy the bicycle. On Saturday, Ishant was annoyed with his father and again asked for the bicycle. After a discussion with his father, Ishant went to his room in a fit of rage and ended his life by hanging himself.

The incident came to light when his family members broke the door of his room as Ishant hadn’t come out for a long time. The Dehu Road police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
