14-year-old girl kidnapped in Maval taluka

Pune: A 14-year-old minor girl who had gone to school was allegedly kidnapped by an unknown person on Monday morning in Kamshet here.

The girl’s father has registered a complainant of kidnapping at Kamshet police station. According to the complainant Shriram Borkar, 38, a resident of Panchsheel colony in Maval, the girl, a student of Pandit Nehru Vidyalaya went to school at 11.30 am and did not return. Her school starts at 11.30 am and gets over at around 6 pm. There are possibilities that she was kidnapped while on her way to school or was abducted while returning back.

The girl’s father who works as bootblack informed the police that after looking for her at school and various other places where she could have gone, he did not find her and reported the matter to the police.

According to the Kamshet police, an investigation has been initiated into the matter. There are various factors which need to be investigated before coming to any conclusion. However, as she is a minor girl and her father is suspecting her abduction, a case of kidnapping has been registered.
