Pune: An 18-year-old boy was attacked with sharped-edged weapons by a group of youngsters on Sunday afternoon in Chinchwad. The victim was attacked over an alleged affair with the sister of one of the accused.

The accused were identified as Krishna Ghanteshwar alias Kittya (24), Pappya (23) and Shankrya Gaikwad (23), all residents of Bijli Nagar in Chinchwad. They attacked Gyaneshawar Shinde with a sharp edged weapon, injuring him on the head and legs.

According to Chinchwad police, Ghanteshwar saw Shinde having a conversation with his sister in their locality and assumed he was having an affair with her. He was angered by this and decided to attack him. Police have booked all the three under sections 307 (Attempt to murder), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of India Penal Code.
