PUNE: Two universities from Pune have gained positions among top 10 residential universities in the Swachhata Ranking held by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced the results at third Swachhata Ranking Award function in New Delhi. Symbiosis International University has been ranked third and Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth secured ninth position. Komeru Laksmaiah Education Foundation, Guntur and OP Jindal Global University, Sonipat, have secured first and second ranking respectively.

The higher educational institutes are evaluated under different categories which include residential universities, non-residential universities, residential colleges, non-residential colleges under UGC and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The ranking is based on hygiene and ecology-friendly campus.
