2 killed in mishap near Lonavala

Pune: A man and his three-year-old daughter died, while his wife and three children sustained grievous injuries after an unidentified vehicle hit their bike in Lonavala at 3 am near Waksaiphata on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. 

The deceased were identified as Sabu Jummana Bhandari (35), and his daughter Pooja (3). The injured include Sabu’s wife Renuka (30) and three children Bhagamma (12), Krushna (10) and Ramu (7).

A highway patrol team found them lying on the roadside and rushed them to hospital. 

The Lonavala police said Bhandari hailed from Karnataka and they were six persons travelling on one bike.
