2 of a software firm booked for selling pirated software

Pune: Officials of cyber crime cell (CCC) of city police on Thursday raided a small software firm in Dhankawadi, involved in allegedly selling pirated e-learning software. Officials of the cyber crime cell said that a complaint was filed by Sumconcepts Technologies Private Limited. 

Police Inspector S Barge of the cyber crime cell sent a dummy customer to buy pirated software. Once the customer bought the e-learning software for Rs 7,500, he alerted police officials and a raid was conducted at Panguru Systems and the police have seized two hard disks from the spot. 

A case against Mahesh Pawar and Santosh Gosavi was filed by Sumconcepts Technologies. The police have booked the accused under sections of cheating and Information Technology Act. The Sahakar Nagar police are investigating the case.
