2012 Qateel Siddqui murder case – Gangster Sharad Mohol, Alok Bhalerao acquitted by court

Pune : A sessions court on Wednesday acquitted gangster Sharad Mohol and his aide Alok Bhalerao for allegedly committing the murder of Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative Mohammed Qateel Siddique at the Yerawada central jail in 2012. Siddiqui was arrested in connection with the 2010 German Bakery bomb blast case. 

Siddiqui, who hailed from Darbhanga in Bihar, was lodged in the high security cell of Yerawada jail. On June 8, 2012, Siddiqui was allegedly strangled to death by two inmates — Sharad Mohol and Alok Bhalerao. An FIR was registered against them with Yerwada police station.
