41-year-old cheated of Rs 24K online

PUNE: A 41-year-old woman who was planning to sell her old sofa set on an online portal was cheated to the tune of Rs 23,999 by fraudsters.

As per the case lodged by the victim, a resident of Erandwane, at Alankar police station, she was contacted by the fraudster through phone, expressing the desire to buy the old sofa set. The fraudster asked the victim to click links sent through Google Pay mobile application. The victim did as instructed, and lost Rs 23,999 at the end of the transaction. Following the incident the victim lodged  a case at Alankar police  station. 

Senior Police Inspector K Jadhav is investigating the case.
