5 Pune patients test negative for coronavirus, sent home

PUNE: All five patients from Pune have been sent home after testing negative for Novel Coronavirus (nCoV). Similarly, three out of five patients admitted in Mumbai have been sent home and the remaining two patients will be sent home on Sunday. Apart from this, all patients from Nagpur and Nanded have been sent home on Saturday, as per the information from the State Health Department.

The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan chaired a review meeting on the preparedness for management of Novel Coronavirus with senior officers of the Ministry. 

As of Saturday, 52,332 passengers from 326 flights have been screened and 97 symptomatic travellers picked up by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) have been referred to the isolation facilities in the local hospitals. 

Around 98 samples have been tested of which 97 have been found negative. The earlier positive case found in Kerala is being monitored and the patient is stable.

Apart from passengers coming from China and Hong Kong, those coming on flights from Singapore and Thailand will also be universally screened at the airports. 

The 324 incoming Indian citizens from Wuhan, China arrived in New Delhi on Saturday, of which 104 are housed at Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Chhawla Camp and 220  in Manesar. They are being effectively monitored said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
