50 Smart E-buses inducted in PMPML

PUNE: Smart E-buses were inducted in the presence of senior citizens and school students who regularly travel by public transport. On behalf of Pune Smart City, 50 new Smart E-buses were inducted in the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd’s (PMPML) fleet under Smart Mobility plan. Also, 50 new CNG buses were included in the fleet.

On Independence Day, Chandrakant Patil, Minister of Revenue and Pune District Guardian Minister, Mayor Mukta Tilak, Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Pune Smart City Chief Executive Officer Dr Rajendra Jagtap, PMPML CMD Nayana Gunde and other dignitaries were present. 

Around 150 electric buses are being procured in the first phase of the Smart Electric Bus project. Among them, 25 are non-BRT AC electric buses of 9 metres in length and 125 BRT AC electric buses of 12 metres in length. In the first phase, 25 Smart E-buses were purchased. Now, 50 more Smart E-buses have been inducted by PSCDCL. 

Patil said, “To make Pune transport smooth, Pune Smart City is implementing a viable Smart E-bus project. Pune Smart City’s efforts will help in achieving Prime Minister’s dream of making 100 cities smart in the country.”
