7 techies duped of Rs 8.1 lakh

PUNE: An FIR has been registered two persons for allegedly duping seven IT engineers of Rs 8.1 lakhs under pretext of helping them get job with FILO Technologies Pvt Ltd located in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi. Police said that the number of duped persons is expected to go up. 

The victims are from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. They lodged the complaint with help from Forum for IT Employees (FITE) team members. Police have booked Varsha Das and Mohammad Mushtaq Alam, for offences under sections 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 

One of the complainant said that she had received message on her phone about job openings for software developer with FILO Technologies Pvt Ltd. “When I contacted on the given number, the woman on the phone identified herself as Varsha Das. She asked for my CV which I sent and my interview was scheduled at the company on December 7. After the interview, I had received email from the company that I have been selected. Later Varsha called me and asked to deposit Rs 80,000 in the bank account of Alam. I transferred the amount and went to join the company on December 19 but there were no company officials present. However, there were many others like me who had come to join the company.”
