75 hrs of astronomy activities in the city

PUNE: Jyotirvidya Parisanstha, which is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee Year in 2019, has organised ‘75 Hours’ of relayed astronomy activities in Pune. The activities include ‘Sidewalk Astronomy’, ‘Click Your Own Moon’, ‘Click your Orion Nebula’. They will also conduct ‘Click your Sun Timelapse’ and ‘Click your Moon Timelapse’ activities and provide manuals and resources for the same. There will be an Astronomy Walk/Treasure Hunt, as well as many more fun activities, stated a press release. 

The event will begin with sunset observation and time-lapse photography on Thursday followed by moon viewing at Balgandharva bridge. Similarly, a lecture by prof Surhud More from Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (AUCAA) at Scout Ground Hall,” it added. 

Besides that on Friday telescopic viewing of Venus, Jupiter and Saturn would be held at Rajaram bridge, besides sunrise observation and time-lapse photography. Likewise, astro-walk, solar astronomy, JVP open house too have been organised on the occasion.
