Pune: In a shocking incident, an 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Rupinagar, Talwade, on the night of January 14. 

The police are yet to identify the culprit. An FIR has been registered against the unidentified persons with Dehu Road police station under Pune rural police. 

According to Dehu Road police, the elderly woman was sleeping alone in her shanty in a slum in Rupinagar, when the accused broke into the shanty and raped her around midnight. 

The incident came to light when her son returned home. A medical report has confirmed sexual assault, the police said.
