9-km road to Sinhagad fort closed for three months

Pune: For the next three months, the nine kilometre motorable road to the Sinhagad fort will remain closed for vehicular traffic for repair works by the State Public Works Department (PWD). The repair work started on Monday.

There were several incidences of landslide during the monsoon which had affected tourism at the historic fort.

The fort attracts hundreds of people especially on weekends for its history as well as panaromic views. 

Officials said that the walkable path to the fort will remain open. 

According to Public Works Department, the road stretch from the Kondhanpur Phata till Talai Park will be widened and tarred while the remaining part will undergo concretisation. There were several potholes on the road.
