ACB nabs sarpanch, his deputy for bribe demand of Rs. 3 lakh

Pune: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Pune police has arrested the sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of Ambawane village while they accepting a bribe of Rs 2.8 lakh on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Macchindra Karale (sarpanch) and Ganesh Mankar (deputy sarpanch). The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant to register the revenue tax receipt of the house.

The complainant reported the matter to the ACB who laid out a trap and caught the accused red-handed while they were accepting the bribe.
