Agrowon employee killed in road mishap in Raj

Pune: A 30-year-old employee of Sakal Media Group was killed in a road accident on Tuesday evening in Nagdi village on Nagpur-Jodhpur National Highway. The deceased Pravin Takawale worked as the chief artist at Agrowon newspaper and is survived by his wife, son, mother, father, sister and a brother. 

Pravin was on a bicycle tour with his eight other friends from Kashmir to Kolhapur, which started on August 13. On Tuesday, the cyclists’ team had planned to head towards Jodhpur from Bikaner. After having their dinner, they were on their way to get their bicycles when four of the cyclists were hit by a speeding truck. The truck driver had lost control of his vehicle and rammed four of them. While Pravin succumbed to his injuries, the other three cyclists are under treatment in a hospital in Khinswar. 

Pravin was working with Sakal Media Group for over 8 years and had graduated from Abhinav Arts College. He was an avid cyclist, runner and had taken part in different marathon and cycling activities. He was also a part of Pune to Kanyakumari cyclathon. Pravin’s body will reach Pune on Thursday.
