Ajit Pawar slams BJP on price rise, load-shedding

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pimpri: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged failure on all fronts.

Pawar was speaking at a public rally after NCP’s ‘Hahakar Morcha’ organised to protest against government policies responsible for the price rise. A large number of NCP supporters participated in
the march.

Pawar said, “CM Devendra Fadnavis has levelled baseless allegations against us over the load- shedding, now they have imposed load-shedding on the State. I want to ask Fadnavis and power minister Chandrashekhar Bavankule, for whose benefit current load-shedding has been imposed?”

He said, in February 2017 the then Union power minister Piyush Goyal said there was excess electricity with the government. But, now there is a shortage of power. The government needs to explain their stand on this.

Pawar said that economy is in a bad state. The government has announced farm loan waiver to the farmers, but not a single farmer has got loan waiver after four months of the announcement, he said.

Pawar said, “Not a single class in the society is happy with this government. There is not much happening in the market even after Diwali is approaching.”

The leader of opposition in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Yogesh Behl, former MLA Vilas Lande and others flayed PCMC rulers.
