Pune: Anganwadi workers staged a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' on Thursday in front of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar statue near Sassoon General Hospital on the 26th day of their state wide strike.

The anganwadi workers are distressed on the growing inaction buy the government to address their demands. Many shouted slogans against the chief minister.

The women working as Anganwadi sevikas and helpers (Madadnis) demand increase in wages and timely dispersal of funds to felicitate the smooth functioning of the anganwadis.

Anganwadi workers also complained about the poor quality of food supplements provided by the government to address malnutrition in children who are enrolled here.
