Army organises ex-servicemen’s rally

PUNE: About 200 veterans and Veer Naris (war widows) attended an ex-servicemen’s rally organised by the Army at Ganaraj Mangal Karyalaya at Pimple Gaon Phata, Manchar on Wednesday. Veterans and war widows hailing from taluka Ambegaon and Junnar of Pune district attended the rally. 

The rally was addressed by Colonel Vivek Kochhar, Adm Commandant Station Headquarters Dehu Road, who assured them they would always remain an inseparable part of the Armed Forces fraternity and their welfare would always be accorded importance and priority.

The rally was held in close coordination with the State Government and Zilla Sainik Board. The main focus of the rally was to update records of ex-servicemen held with veterans node of Dakshin Maharashtra Sub Area and address problems like anomalies in disbursement of pension, land and legal cases being confronted by the veterans and war widows. 

A number of stalls from welfare agencies and organisations of the Army and civil administration were set up. A medical camp with doctors from Military Hospital, Khadki as well as local public health centre was organised on the occasion.
