Pune: Dalit groups led by the Republican Party of India (Athawale) protested at the District Collectorate demanding arrests of prime accused in the Koregaon-Bhima riots Manohar Bhide and Milind Ekote under the National Security Act (NSA).
The groups alleged that the accused were roaming free looking for bail even after complaints were filed against them in January. They alleged the State government is protecting the two. They demanded that the NSA be applied against them and they be arrested.
The protestors demanded the financial transactions of the two be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department in relation to the Koregaon-Bhima riots, the families displaced from Sanaswadi be rehabilitated and the charges against participants of the ‘bandh’ post-riots be withdrawn.
