Bank of Baroda celebrates its Foundation Day in city

Pune: Bank of Baroda (BoB) celebrated its 110th Foundation Day on July 20 at Kalmadi High School Auditorium, Pune, in which bank staff completing 25 years of service and children of staff members scoring more than 80 per cent marks in Std X and XII exams of various boards were felicitated.

Bank of Baroda was founded by the Late Maharaja of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III on July 20, 1908.

Eminent astrophysicist Jayant Narlikar graced the function as the Chief Guest. MD and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra RP Marathe, AD Parulkar, General Manager, Pune Zone, AK Gupta, Deputy General Manager, Pune Zone, AK Chugh, Deputy General Manager, Pune Region, other executives of the bank, staff members and valued customers of the bank also attended the function.

The bank has always endeavoured to support various social causes and in recognition of its responsibilities towards the society at large, various CSR initiatives were undertaken by Pune Zone to commemorate the bank’s Foundation Day.

The activities included a Blood Donation Camp, Sponsoring Meal at Nivara Old Age home, Donation of Blankets to new born babies at Sassoon Hospital and a tree plantation drive at ARAI Hill.

Apart from this, all the branches of bank’s Pune Zone also undertook various social initiatives to celebrate the Foundation Day week.
