BARTI celebrates Senior Citizens Day with gusto

Pune: To celebrate Senior Citizens Day, members of the Social Justice Department, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), politicians and other dignitaries organised various programmes for senior citizens including dance and health check-up. 

Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole was part of the event. He shared his experience while handling problems of senior citizens. According to BARTI Assistant Project Director Padmashree Patil, the event called ‘Jeshtotsav 2018’ was held at Shubharambh hall near DP Road.

Minister of State for Social Justice Dilip Kamble, BARTI Director Kailash Kanse, political leaders Anil Shirole, Medha Kulkarni and other dignitaries like Dr Mohan Agashe, Deepa Logoo and Arun Dhere were present for the event. Badole presented some poems for senior citizens and said there should be five per cent reservation for senior citizens in hospitals and events like health check-up and other facilities should be provided to them at public places. Kamble explained government schemes for senior citizens. Several senior citizens were felicitated for their contribution towards society.
