BJP will win all 8 Assembly seats in Pune: Girish Bapat

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Pune Member of Parliament (MP) Girish Bapat on Sunday said that the party is confident of winning all eight seats in Pune just like in 2014 in the forthcoming Assembly polls.

He was addressing a press meet on Sunday at Hotel Shreyas, a day ahead of the visit of BJP Working President JP Nadda in the city.

City BJP chief Madhuri Misal, who was also present for the press meet, said that Nadda will be in the city to launch Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign in the city.

“The BJP working president will be holding meetings with party workers and will also be addressing a conference along with members of the business, lawyers and other communities. He will also explain and make them aware of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jan Jagran event is a public awareness campaign to apprise people about the outcome of the revocation of Article 370. There were certain misconceptions in the society following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and, hence, he launched the Jan Jagran event,” added Misal.

Speaking on seat-sharing in Pune, Misal said that, currently, the party has decided to contest all eight seats in Pune. Speaking on the contribution of the party in the development of the city, Bapat said that a large number of people have benefited through different government schemes.

“Be it the Ujjwala gas yojana or Mudra loans or the crop loan waiver for farmers, our party has helped all sections of society from students to farmers. We might not have achieved 100 per cent of our goals but we are sure we are on the right path of progress. So we are confident of a clean sweep this time too. The CM will also be from our party,” added Bapat.
