Burglars break into house, take away cash, ornaments

Pune: A burglary amounting to Rs 5.55 lakh took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday at a house in Sadashiv Peth area of the city. A case in this regard has been registered at Vishrambaug police station.

Complainant Dnyaneshwar Jadhav, a resident of Sadashiv Peth, informed the police that thieves broke open the door and entered his house located near SP’s Biryani House on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. At the time of the burglary, no one was inside the house.

According to the information provided by Vishrambaug police, the burglars opened the door using a rod and then took out the money and ornaments from the cupboard, which was kept inside the bedroom.

Police have registered a case against unknown accused under section 457 of Indian Penal Code.
