ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: A 28-year-old woman in December last year had given an application to the Hinjawadi police about sexual harassment by a cab driver, but, did not attend calls by the police and also did not bother to pursue her case.

Hinjawadi police on their own swung into action and on Tuesday arrested the driver from Dattawadi. After the arrest, a policeman was sent to the woman’s house, who requested her to lodge a complaint. The woman at last came and lodged the complaint.

As per the police, the incident took place on December 5, 2018, around 8.40 pm between Radha Chowk and Mahalunge. She had hired a shared cab and when she was alone the accused started using obscene language. The arrested driver has been identified as Santosh Chandrakant Shette (39) of Dattawadi.
