Case against MahaMetro for violating MCC

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: Officials of the district administration have decided to lodge a case of violation of  Model Code of Conduct (MCC) against MahaMetro officials after they held a press meet at Ghole Road office recently.

The press meet was held after the Election Commission imposed MCC ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2019. MahaMetro officials had informed about Vanaaz-Chandani Chowk metro project.

Speaking about the action, District Collector Naval Kishore Ram said that the details of the press meet had appeared in certain newspaper. “Prima facie, it appears that there was a violation of MCC and so we have decided to take action. Currently, we cannot take a stand as to whether the officials wanted publicity,” he added.
