Chinchwad police arrest six persons for creating ruckus

Pune: Officials of the Chinchwad police station nabbed six persons allegedly involved in creating a ruckus and pelting stones at various shops in Walhekarwadi on August 12.

As per information given by Senior Police Inspector Vitthal Kubde of Chinchwad police station, the arrested accused have been identified as Tosif Tamboli (24), Vinayak Varke (26), Vicky Sutar (24), Sanjay Retti (18), Akash Alhat (21) and Samadhan Gatgal (24).

Police said that the accused robbed a shopkeeper of Rs 20,000 and also damaged various shops after threatening the shop owners of the area.

A team of Chinchwad police was then formed to nab the accused.

Police Inspector Vinayak Salunke said that informers helped police trace Tamboli after which all accused fell in the police trap one after the other.

The accused are remanded to police custody till August 19. Assistant Police Inspector Satish Kamble is investigating the case.
