City policemen to salute teachers today

PUNE: On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, personnel from Pune city police will give greeting cards and salute the principals of schools and colleges on Wednesday. Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham told Sakal Times that over 1,200 cards have been distributed to police stations. 

A police officer told Sakal Times, “We have been asked to send the ‘police kaka,’ who often visits the schools, or other personnel to meet principals to greet them and handover greeting cards. The cards will have names and phone numbers of the concerned policeman as well as that of the local police chowki in-charge police sub-inspector or assistant police inspector.”
